In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Ioniq 6 N are reminded to check the back seat when a sensor determines the back seat is occupied. The Taycan doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Ioniq 6 N. But it costs extra on the Taycan.

Both the Ioniq 6 N and the Taycan have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Ioniq 6 N comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Taycan’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

Hyundai’s powertrain warranty covers the Ioniq 6 N 6 years and 50,000 miles longer than Porsche covers the Taycan. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Taycan ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are over 4 times as many Hyundai dealers as there are Porsche dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Ioniq 6 N’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Hyundai vehicles are better in initial quality than Porsche vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Hyundai third in initial quality, above the industry average. With 15 more problems per 100 vehicles, Porsche is ranked 12th.

The Ioniq 6 N’s electric motors produces 239 more horsepower (641 vs. 402) and 266 lbs.-ft. more torque (568 vs. 302) than the Taycan Performance Battery’s standard electric motor. The Ioniq 6 N’s electric motors produces 239 more horsepower (641 vs. 402) and 137 lbs.-ft. more torque (568 vs. 431) than the Taycan 4 Performance Battery’s standard electric motors. The Ioniq 6 N’s electric motors produces 212 more horsepower (641 vs. 429) and 259 lbs.-ft. more torque (568 vs. 309) than the Taycan Performance Battery Plus’ standard electric motor.

For better traction, the Ioniq 6 N has larger tires than the Taycan (275/35R20 vs. 225/55R19). The Ioniq 6 N’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Taycan (275/35R20 vs. 265/35R21).

The Ioniq 6 N’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Taycan’s standard 55 series front and 45 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Ioniq 6 N has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Taycan.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Ioniq 6 N’s wheelbase is 2.5 inches longer than on the Taycan (116.7 inches vs. 114.2 inches).

For excellent aerodynamics, the Ioniq 6 N has standard flush composite headlights. The Taycan has recessed headlights that spoil its aerodynamic shape and create extra drag.

Because it has more passenger and cargo room, the EPA rates the Ioniq 6 N a Mid-size car, while the Taycan is rated a Compact.

The Ioniq 6 N has 14 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Taycan (103 vs. 89).

The Ioniq 6 N has 2 inches more front headroom, 3.6 inches more front legroom, 1.6 inches more front shoulder room, 2.5 inches more rear legroom and 4.1 inches more rear shoulder room than the Taycan.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Ioniq 6 N’s rear seats recline. The Taycan’s rear seats don’t recline.

On a hot day the Ioniq 6 N’s driver can lower all the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Taycan can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Ioniq 6 N’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Taycan’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Ioniq 6 N has standard extendable sun visors. The Taycan doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N outsold the Porsche Taycan by almost three to one during 2025.
